Both Grenada and St. Kitts offer Citizenship by Investment opportunities for investors wanting to secure the advantages of economic citizenship. Choosing which Caribbean citizenship to apply for can be difficult as each of the CBI programs differs in significant ways. To help guide investors choose the right Citizenship by Investment program for their needs, read below and see how St. Kitts and Grenada’s economic citizenship programs compare.

Grenada Citizenship by Investment Overview

Grenada’s Citizenship by Investment program is one of the newer programs in the Caribbean but has become one of the most popular. Grenada citizenship provides a wide array of benefits for investors that deliver greater opportunities through them while also being a key component in investment portfolios. The Citizenship by Investment program allows investors from other nations to gain citizenship in Grenada by making an investment in a government-approved real estate development and fulfilling the application requirements.

The Grenada Citizenship by Investment process is completed in four simple steps:

  1. Sales & Purchase agreement: sign an agreement and submit your deposit
  2. Application & Fees: both the processing fees, due diligence, and other applicable fees must be paid along with the application directly to the service provider.
  3. Processing & Payment: the application process takes a relatively short time. Upon approval of citizenship, the main applicant then pays the remaining balance and applicable Grenada government fees.
  4. Closing & Transfer of Passports: proof of ownership will be submitted to the Grenada government, and you will receive your passports.

The requirements to successfully apply for Grenadian citizenship include:

  • The main applicant must be 18 years old or older.
  • The main applicant must prove that they have enough funds to make the required investment and prove the legal source of these funds.
  • The main applicant and dependents do not suffer from contagious diseases and/or serious health problems.
  • Not to have been convicted in any country of an offense, with a custodial penalty of more than six months imprisonment, unless he or she has received a free pardon.
  • Not to be the subject of a criminal investigation.
  • Not to be considered a potential national security risk.
  • Not to be involved in any activity likely to cause disrepute to Granada.
  • Not to have been denied a visa to a country with which Grenada has visa-free access.

St. Kitts CBI Program Overview

St. Kitts and Nevis’s Citizenship by Investment program offers its own set of benefits that deliver ample advantages to investors. In St. Kitts & Nevis, there are two ways the main applicant can secure citizenship, via a government-approved real estate project or a non-refundable donation to a government fund. In either case, whether you apply for economic citizenship via the real estate route or make a non-refundable donation to the fund, an applicant must meet the following requirements:

  • Be over 18 years of age
  • Have a clean criminal record/undergo a background check
  • Have outstanding character and have sufficient funds as demonstrated via bank statements and references
  • Be financially capable of making the investment and paying the due diligence fees
  • Work with an authorized agent to move forward with your application

The St. Kitts Citizenship by Investment process itself is completed in four simple steps:

  1. Sales & Purchase agreement: sign an agreement and submit your deposit
  2. Application & Fees: paying the processing fees, due diligence fees and other applicable fees and submitting the necessary documents.
  3. Processing & Payment: the application process can take up to 120 days. Upon approval of citizenship, the main applicant then pays the remaining balance and applicable St. Kitts government fees.
  4. Closing & Transfer of Passports: proof of ownership will be submitted to the St. Kitts government, and you will receive your passports.
